David Shumate

David Shumate began training in Yoseikan Budo as a child in 1994 and has been training as an adult since 1997. He is currently an assistant instructor at North Alabama Yoseikan.Due to his considerable cross training in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo David specializes in groundwork in addition to the standard Yoseikan curriculum. To furthur augment this training he is currently cross training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Maverick Training Center, which is affiliated with Helio Soneca. He has also recieved direct intruction from top level instructors such as Mitchi Mochizuki, Glenn Pack, and Helio Soneca and particpated in several grappling tournaments.
