Mission Statement

Yoseikan Budo has always been about maintaining the balance between tradition and evolution while allowing it's practitioners to develop their own martial way. North Alabama Yoseikan is dedicated to fostering the spirit of our founder Master Minoru Mochizuki and his son Grandmaster Hiroo Mochizuki which respects equally the long standing martial traditions of the past and the spirit of innovation and flexibility.

Students will be exposed to techniques covering all ranges of combat, including skills in striking, throwing, joint manipulations, ground fighting and weapons. Formal exercises and drills will be used to cement student's development of basic principles, while free practice will be employed to broaden creativity and mastery in all aspects of the broad Yoseikan curriculum.

The instructors of North Alabama Yoseikan are committed to maintaining the standards of excellence passed on by their instructors while simultaneously encouraging each student to explore and develop a path that leads to their own personal expression of Budo.
